Test Your Metal

Every founder claims mettle. The search decides the metal. Your concept is run against the field: trademark records, the open web, the marketplaces. The structure of what we find, not anyone’s taste, sets the medal it carries.

Silver · Gold · Platinum · each a searched, dated record

The metals

Real hallmarks stamp fineness because not all silver is sterling. The Assay does the same for a conception: the search runs, every finding is cited, and the field’s structure sets the metal. The medal is not chosen. It is computed from what the search found.

The Silver Seal

A distinguished conception in an occupied field

Your differentiator is real, it describes an offer, not a costume, but the search found prior or near instances, and cites every one to your face. Silver is the medal that tells the truth: most strong brands in history were built exactly here, in occupied fields, on the strength of a distinct articulation and a well-forged name. You leave knowing precisely what exists and where the room is.

The Gold Seal

A distinct conception within an existing field

Your industry exists, and nothing in it does what your concept does. The search found an active field of neighbors at the component level, and no prior instance of your conception. The mark of a brand built to stand apart inside a defined market.

The Platinum Seal

A conception whose field was not found

The rarest prospective reading: no prior instance, no active adjacent field. Your concept doesn’t sit inside a market; it implies one that doesn’t yet exist in the sources searched. Because Platinum is computed, never granted by taste, it stays rare enough to mean something.

The Rhodium Honor

Reserved, awarded only by history

Never issued at assay, at any price, to anyone. A retrospective honor, conferred only when time has verified that a Platinum-sealed concept’s category actually came into being. We can attest to the field on the day we search it; only history can attest to what a concept became. Rhodium waits for history.

One line governs every metal on this page: a medal describes the field on the day it was searched, never a prediction of impact. Whether a brand goes on to reshape its industry is a story the brand writes. The medal marks where it began.

What the record is, and is not

It is a dated, third-party record of conception.Your name, your mark, your words, and your differentiator, struck into a dated record with an auditable search log, issued by us as a third party, and entered in the register. Provenance, not a patent.
It is bounded, on purpose. The attestation reads exactly: no prior instance of this concept was found in the sources searched, as of the date. Not a guarantee of worldwide uniqueness, not a legal right, not a trademark filing, not legal advice. A keepable claim is stronger than a grand one.
It does not predict success.A seal doesn’t make a brand succeed and the absence of one holds no brand back, some of history’s most dominant companies began as the smallest tweak on an existing idea, executed to perfection. The Assay serves the creator for whom it matters, personally, to stand on the record as the source and origin of what they made. If your play is the sharper tweak and the market taken by craft, the Forge will build you a name that wins, and we’ll respect the play.

The covenant

You’re handing your idea to a house that forges names for a living. The right question is: what stops you from becoming my competition? The answer is structure, not reassurance.

Your brief is confidential.Never reused, never shown to another client, never published.
Your concept is not duplicated. We will never knowingly forge the same differentiated venture for anyone else. What makes yours different is recorded in your words, and that record defines the promise.
Retained names stay out of your lane.Names we keep from a forge are never listed into your category.
First refusal is yours. If you want more than one of the five, they are yours to claim first, at a stated price, within a stated window.
The register would testify for you, against anyone, including us.Your differentiator is dated in your name from intake. If we ever broke this covenant, our own record would be your evidence.

Put your metal to the test

Describe the concept below. The Assay is run by the house, a real search, logged and cited, never an instant algorithm, and your reading returns by email within two business days: the findings, the medal the field supports, and exactly what would strengthen your position.

Quarantined from the first keystroke. What you enter here is used to run your assay, nothing else. It is never used in our own ventures, never shown to another client, never sold.

One sentence, plain words.

Describe the offer, not the name or the look. A different name or color isn’t a difference, a different product, mechanism, audience, or model is. This is the single most valuable thing you can write here.

Names are assayed separately and never affect your concept’s medal.

A record is attributed to a maker. This is the name your assay, and any medal it earns, is tied to.

Your reading returns here. It is also how we reach you about your record.

Our public register of assayed origins: a living record, set in stone. If inscribed, only your chosen name, the medal, and the date appear. Your concept stays private unless you choose to reveal it.

How you would like to appear: your name, your venture, or a mark.

Run by the house · searched, logged, and cited · reading returned within two business days · no charge for the assay.

Seals, medals, and readings are records and attestations, not legal rights, not protection, not a legal opinion, and never a guarantee of worldwide uniqueness. Every attestation is bounded to the sources searched as of its date. What any record is worth, in any dispute, is a question for lawyers and courts, we make no claims about it, and we’d be suspicious of anyone who did.
